The Answers You Need
Cos Watercolours is still growing but the satisfaction of our customers is still a priority. Check out some of our frequently asked questions below, and feel free to get in touch if you need additional information.
WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE LIMITED PRODUCTS ON SALE?
Creating these paints is dependent on the amount of cosmetics we manage to collect and process. We want this trial run of the online store to give as many people as possible a chance to try the paint. We are also thinking about the best way to package these paints for the environment. We're almost there, but we just want to be certain about our sustainable material decisions and hope you can understand that conscious choices can take time to get right.
Cos Watercolours also aims to reduce as much waste as possible in all areas of the business. We want to encourage the use of our half pans in your existing sets. We welcome your feedback so please do reach out to us on social media to let us know your thoughts.
CAN I SUPPORT WITHOUT BUYING A PRODUCT?
Yes! Donations are always welcome. Whether you want to donate money to help us reach our next milestone to help extend our reach to more retailers and give more people the ability to donate their unwanted makeup to us, or if you would like to donate your makeup - please just get in touch and let's see what we can do.
WHERE CAN I DONATE MY MAKEUP?
Want to give your makeup a new life? Let us transform your waste into paint! Cos Watercolours is based in Portsmouth, UK. But, we're happy to receive mail from wherever you are!
UPDATE: Due to the coronavirus, our public address for donations is unable to access at present. If you would like to donate, please get in touch directly so we can get you an address to send your goods to. Put your name and contact inside to let us know who sent it and we'll email you a discount code for your next purchase!
WHY DO YOUR HALF PANS LOOK DIFFERENT?
Each paint from Cos Watercolours has been handmade so some presentation may be imperfect. We try hard to avoid cracks appearing as much as possible when pouring, but this is sometimes unavoidable (but normal) with handmade paints. Due to the original properties of the makeup affecting the chemical composition of each paint, consistency in texture can also sometimes be difficult to achieve. This can also be because each pan has been 3D printed using PLA, a biodegradable alternative to plastic. We encourage users to return the pans back to us if it is not possible to reuse them so we can dispose of these correctly using an industrial composter at a nearby city.
ARE YOUR PAINTS VEGAN?
Due to the original makeup raw material that comes to us, we cannot guarantee that our paints are vegan. However, most of our products are made using a vegan formula to bring the pigments to life as a watercolour paint. It is worth checking before purchase of a particular product if this is a concern to you.

DO YOU SELL YOUR ARTWORK?
Yes. However, these are usually done on commission upon request or sold in person. If you are interested, get in touch and send an image of what you would love to be recreated in the Cos Watercolours style by Ameenah. Prints and other merchandise are available for sale for limited time periods only, so when they're up, be quick! They don't last long.
